Hello!
As
I write this, Memorial Day festivities are in full swing. Flags
grace numerous homes in my neighborhood. Many of us get an extra
day off this week-special time out of our busy lives to honor
the memories of loved ones, many of whom died for our great
country.
I'm
deeply gratified by the surge of patriotism that has swept through
our hearts since 9/11. My August release from Harlequin Historicals,
The Mercenary's Kiss, was inspired by that patriotism. As a
fearless mercenary, my hero, Jeb Carson, serves his country
in ways few men could-or dared. Of course, by the end of the
book, he has the love and devotion of a beautiful woman for
his trouble. <bg>

art is here! Check out my website to see it:

Drop
me a note and let me know what you think. The cover model was
voted by romance readers as their favorite in an online survey
last year on eharlequin.com.
No
word yet on the release date for the Western Spring Brides novella
due out in the Spring of 2005. No title, either, but most likely
we'll have one by the time our July newsletter drops into your
mailboxes.
In
the meantime, I'm enjoying a break between contracts. Doug and
I have treated ourselves to a much-needed bedroom re-do. Our
new furniture should be arriving sometime in the next week,
and Doug has been taking advantage of the time to put in some
new flooring for me. (Wood laminate is fabulous stuff!) I'm
sewing drapes and helping with the painting. Kristi has moved
back home after graduating from college, and it's been a challenge
absorbing her household items into ours. A garage sale was a
big help for that. It's been fun having her back home, though.
She's good company for Amy. Ann Marie, a fifth grade teacher,
is looking forward to the last few days of school. She says
her students are wired for summer! Katie is neck deep in her
wedding plans. I'll give you all a big update on them in the
next issue.

WONDERFUL! I love them!"

JUNE
CONTEST
Our
newest contest will be better yet! It will feature a signed
copy of Kim Louise's contemporary romance, A Love of Their Own.
I've read this book-it'll tug your heartstrings. Kim has been
making a real name for herself in the romance genre these past
few years. Her editors just love her and send her piles of contracts,
keeping her so busy she's decided to quit her job and write
fulltime. And she tells me there's a public television documentary
about her in the works, too. Wow!
I'm
including a signed copy of one of my Leisure releases, Hannah's
Vow, as well. This book generated more fan mail than all my
books combined, as well as my best reviews ever.
I'll also have another set of handmade notecards for our winner.
As an added bonus, I'll be tucking in a box of Gevalia Kaffe-Chocolate
Raspberry. Mmmm, can't you just smell the coffee brewing now?

would like to subscribe, too, just pass along my website address
to sign up. http://www.pamcrooks.com

every subscriber is automatically entered into the monthly contests.
Tami, my newsletter moderator, will contact you if you're a
winner! Enjoy the start of a brand new summer, and I'll see
you on July 1st!
