Hi!
Where has the month of April gone? Here it is, our second issue
of the newsletter-and May already!
I
enjoyed hearing from those of you who took the time to post
me after the first issue landed in your mailbox. Please feel
free to drop me a note anytime. I always answer. If you think
a friend and fellow romance reader would like to subscribe,
too, just pass along my website address, and they can sign up
from there. www.pamcrooks.com. Remember, every subscriber is
automatically entered into the monthly contests.
Speaking
of which - we have our first winner! Keep reading to find out
who it is.
I've
spent the past month on a deadline to finish the novella I'm
doing for Harlequin and their Western Brides Anthology. Release
date is April or May, 2005. I love these short stories-wow!
The pages just fly by. I'm right on track, and by the time you
read this, the novella should be going through its final draft
before I send it on to New York.
On
the 17th of April, writing buddies Marie Huggins, Dee Ann Williamson
and Kim Louise headed with me to Lincoln for the "Turn the Pages
of Romance" conference co-sponsored by the Lincoln City Libraries
and the Omaha Library. The agenda for the day was focused on
romance in a casual atmosphere. My fellow authors and I loved
mingling with the romance readers there. A highlight was meeting
Harlequin authors Kylie Brant and Cindy Gerard. They drove in
from Iowa to attend-as well as NY Times and USA Bestsellers
List, Bobbi Smith, who came in from Missouri. Great fun!
Only
three more months until my debut with Harlequin Historicals
hits the shelves. The Mercenary's Kiss will be coming in August!
See
you in June!
Pam
